Bob Miller, PHR (aka HR BOB)
With over 30 years of management experience, primarily focused on human resources, quality, and operational management, Bob's careers include the United States Air Force (retired), General Electric, Wendel Architects & Engineers (now Wendel Duscherer), Russer Foods, and Child & Family Services. He has experience with both large and small businesses, profit and not for profit companies, manufacturing, service, government, union and non-union environments. Bob is currently an adjunct professor at Medaille and Daemen Colleges, private schools in the Buffalo area. He teaches human resources, principles of management, leadership, organizational behavior, and international business at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Bob has a Master's Degree in Management from Troy State University. He also has degrees in Instructional Design and Computer Science. He has had his Professional in Human Resource Management (PHR) certification since 1992 and is an alumnus of Leadership Buffalo and the Leadership Buffalo Graduate program. Among his many awards are: Western New York SHRM Outstanding Human Resource Professional of the Year, the Vanguard Employer Partnership award, and the Business First Pathfinders award.
Bob has developed Human Resource Programs where none had previously existed. He has developed an abbreviated strategic planning process that works exceptionally well for small non-profits. Bob has also designed and delivered many presentations both locally and nationally in Leadership, Strategic Planning, Facilitation Skills, Quality Management and Human Resource Management. ♦
Andrea Griffa Harden, SPHR
Andrea joined our team in September 2006. She is responsible for providing senior human resource expertise to many of our clients. Andrea has 15 years of progressive human resource experience, most recently as HR Director with Definity Health and previously as HR Manager with Praxair, Inc. She is also a skilled facilitator and certified trainer. She holds her MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has her Senior Human Resources Professional certification (SPHR). Andrea is a member of the Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association (BNHRA) where she has chaired the Diversity Committee. ♦
Jeanne Moog, SPHR
Jeanne joined R. W. Miller Jr. & Associates in March 2007. Jeanne is a certified Senior Human Resource Professional with 20 years of HR experience. She has her BS in Business Administration from Canisius College and has been an active participant in BNHRA, the local Society for Human Resource Management chapter where she has held several board positions. Jeanne provides her senior level HR expertise to several of our clients. ♦
Lorry L. Goldhawk, PHR
Lorry Goldhawk joined our team in June 2008. She was previously employed in Human Resources at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, conducting faculty-level recruitment, in addition to immigration applications and processing and internal consulting projects. Prior to Roswell Park, Lorry was the Director of Recruiting for a local financial services company and the Operations and Testing manager for a management and human resources consulting firm. Lorry served on the Board of Directors of the Buffalo Niagara Human Resources Association (BNHRA) as Vice President of Communications and Chair of the monthly Newsletter Committee. Lorry received her management/human resources and psychology degrees from the University at Buffalo, and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR). ♦
Jeffrey M. Madden
Jeff Madden joined the R. W. Miller team in September 2008. Jeff has done extensive consulting work in Affirmative Action throughout Western New York, but also has experience in all aspects of Human Resources. He worked for British Petroleum/The Carborundum Company, Wendel, Independent Health and Cannon after receiving his MBA (with his concentration in Human Resources) from the University at Buffalo. ♦
Marilyn Coté-Miller
Marilyn has been with R. W. Miller Jr. & Associates since its inception and is co-owner. She takes care of the infrastructure of office operations including managing the office, editing the website, providing computer support, and typing and "wordsmithing" all of our documentation. Marilyn has over 30 years of administrative experience and has received specialized training in FLSA compliance, employee recordkeeping, handbook development and I-9 form compliance. Marilyn is a founding member of the Buffalo Niagara chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), where she currently serves as Chapter Administrator. ♦
Nicole Tomasello
Nicole Tomasello joined our team in December 2008 as Office Coordinator. She has her MBA from Medaille College and her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Nicole has extensive customer service experience, in addition to supervisory, operations and sales experience. She has worked with various HR-related disciplines, including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, coaching, record keeping, employee handbook compliance and orientation. ♦
Shelby Tate
Ms. Tate is a full time student at Sweethome High School in Amherst, NY, and will soon be graduating this June. She is a peer counselor and is in the German Honor Society. Shelby joined R. W. Miller Jr. & Associates in the fall of 2007 and performs a variety of tasks including filing, entering payroll and bookkeeping data and answering the phones. Shelby is learning the ropes, not only in HR but about the working world in general. And, since she is Bob and Marilyn's granddaughter, she may have a future career in Human Resources! ♦
